Four Fantastic 4-Week Wines that are overlooked…. and are very affordable. In a rut? Same old, same old? There is a wealth of wine to try. 4-week wines are often drinkable from bottling. Affordable and ready for Christmas. The four wines below offer something different.
Vintners Reserve Mezza Luna Red
This is a very full-bodied red that is not known well enough. It’s called the ‘big red’, offering a rich and bold flavour. The Italian inspired blend marries intense aromas with complex flavours and hints of cherry and raspberry. It boasts a dark red colour with just the right amount oak. For a 4-week wine Mezza Luna packs a punch!!
Sweetness: Dry Body: Medium-Full Oak: Medium
Vintners Reserve Mezza Luna White
Like its red counterpart, this is the ''great white’, with its full round body, big fruit flavors and aromas. The addition of oak provides a subtle yet noticeable balance to the fruit intensity. Big, lush & golden, Mezza Luna gives you body & complexity not always expected in a 4-week wine.
Sweetness: Off-Dry Body: Medium Oak: Medium
Vintners Reserve Diablo Rojo
Dark purple in color with a nose of blackberry jam melded with creamy vanilla aromas, and a touch of tobacco this Spanish “merlot” is intensely rich in flavor. The gentle smooth tannins and ripe plum and berry flavors give a finish that is long and fruit-filled, with just the right amount of toasted oak. While it will improve with ageing, this wine is perfect for enjoying right away.
Sweetness: Off-dry Body: Full Oak: Heavy
Vintners Reserve Viognier
The intense fruitiness of this deceptively charming wine suggests rich sweetness, but it actually shows a surprisingly dry and aromatic finish. It has a delicate yellow colour, tinged with the variety's typical 'green-gold' hue, and bursts with the flavors of apricot, peach and spice aromas.
Sweetness: Dry Body: Medium Oak: None
