Three levels and a little tweeking. These wines range for very good to fabulous. In comparison with wine-by-the-bottle the quality is higher and the price is lower. What's not to love?
This is not the wine your grandparents made.
4/5-week: nose and body at a fraction of the price
6-week: authentic quality from the day you bottle
8-week: complex wines that only get better as they age
And finally. We do experiment - on our own wines! Check out Nora the Explora for something outside the box.

It is hard to argue Vintages wine a box wine prices. There is no trick. Take away the marketing, the huge retail space and the taxes and you are left with amazing wine. Was never easier to make great wine. Astonishing today, but with a so much potential to age.

Notes: Amarone is special. Grown in the Valpolicella region using the classic Valpolicella grapes of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, it is the last wine to be harvested. Already rich, its grapes are allowed to dry and dehydrate. By the time fermentation begins the wines are a dry concentration of flavour and sugar. The result is a rich and full-bodied wine with acidity. A hint of sweetness and flavours of mocha, chocolate, raisins, black cherry, and dried figs make this an exceptional wine. Enjoy to today, but age for something amazing.

Notes: Grenache (or Garnacha in Spain) is a name that you will rarely find on a wine bottle, but it is unquestionably the blending grape. Think of Chateau-Neuf-du-Pape. At its best in Spain, Grenache brings blackberries, black pepper, earthy notes, and a hint of tobacco. This noble grape lacks acidity, tannins and colour, but rich, earthy Syrah provides the perfect balance. Enjoy.

Notes: There is nothing quiet like Malbec, and nowhere to grow it quiet like South America. Plum and dark berries with oak and vanilla. Structured, tannins and fragrant fruit, hints of tobacco and leather. But none of this describes the unique character of Malbec. The plumy character and tannin/acidity balance come, in part, from the availability of suitable land at altitude. Malbec is a love-it or hate-it wine, but for Malbec lovers, this is a truly rewarding wine.

Black cherries, strawberries combine with silky tannins, but it is the earthy yet ethereal quality the makes Pinot Noir so special.

Notes: Start with the classic Valpolicella grapes of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. After harvesting allow the pressings to steep in the Amarone grapes skins and the result is a big, big wine. This Ripasso style is rightly cherished in Italy. This full-bodied wine bursts with berries, cherries and robust tannins. So far from anything that resembles an old-fashioned wine kit.

Notes: In the 1980s young Italian vintners in Tuscany became frustrated with the bureaucracy and limitations of Chianti. Blending their fine Sangiovese grapes with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah produced fabulous wines under the collective name of Super Tuscan. Now accepted and lauded, Super Tuscan is a full-bodied and heavily oaked wine in which raspberries and blackberries and supported by rich tannins and firm acidity. Vanilla, earthy notes and pepper contribute to the bold complexity.

Notes: Valpolicella is enhanced in both Amarone and Rosso Grande, but the best Valpolicellas stand out in their own right. In the dark days of the 1980s Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara were grown for quantity and Valpolicella's reputation was tarnished. Thankfully, Italian viniculture has return to its rightful place and Valpolicella is once again a unique combination of fruit-forward raisins, black cherries and prunes with firm tannins, oak and chocolate.

Notes: Wearing its New World title of Zinfandel, this grape is typically known as Primitivo and originates in Puglia. Notes: It seems that Enigma is a Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which really is a fairly established blend of some of the best wines in California. The key here is the off-dry character. Although ff-dry gets a bad rap, it doesn't have to mean sweet at all. That applies to many white and almost all off-dry reds. Its character is truly more fruit forward the blackberry and other black fruit notes. These combine with softer tannins and lightly acidity. That said, it remains a complex and structured wine with noticeable oak, vanilla and spice.

Notes: Montepulciano is slightly confusing in that it represents two very distinct wines. There is the Sangiovese-based wine from the Tuscan town of Montepulciano and the widely grown varietal of the same name. Montepulciano is the second most commonly planted grape in Italy after Sangiovese. Like all widely grown grapes it suffers from a bottom end of all quality grapes, but Montepulciano d’Abruzzzo is an excellent wine. There are unique flavours of boysenberry with cherry and plum, and subtle notes of oregano and tar. This is a medium to full bodied wine that expresses oak tannins, and the acidity in equal proportion.

Notes: Pinot Noir is often blended with Syrah to give color and body, but as a single varietal from cool-climate vineyards Pinot Noir is a truly unique wine. This is perhaps most readily demonstrated by the very high prices achieved for the best Pinot Noir vintages. Fortunately for us Chile offers us something approaching the same quality at a fraction of the price. This one offers favours of red cherry, blackBerry and strawberry, but it is the haunting ethereal and earthy notes but make this wine so special. Often overlooked on the shelves, it deserves your attention.

Notes: No lineup would be complete without an Australian Shiraz, and this wine lives up to expectations. There is a perfect nose of jammy black fruits and pepper, the reflects the first taste. Although this is considered a medium bodied red, the jammy fruits, baking spices and lingering pepper give it real depth. Heavy oak, hints of leather and spice, and rich notes of cassis make this such an enjoyable wine. The moderate tannins allow the wine to be drunk from bottling, whilst still giving body and structure.
