Notes: One of life's rewarding experiences is to develop an appreciation of Gewürztraminer. Although unashamedly off-dry, this is a wine of rich complexity. A delicate mix of lychee, roses, tropical fruit and spice suggest a higher sugar level than is present. Elderflower elevates the floral notes and draws out the fragrant character.

Notes: A favourite. Viognier can lose its character if mistreated, but this wine retains the apricot and unique floral character of Viognier. Dry Riesling brings minerality and Chardonnay offer its classic tropical fruit richness. The result is structure and complexity in an easy to drink wine, alone or with food.

Sweetness: Off-Dry
Notes: Many people never read further than the words 'off-dry' in the description of a Gewürztraminer. Others try a rather insipid sweet wine and never buy another. A good Gewürztraminer is one of life's rich and unique experiences. We make our Gewürztraminer with a touch of elderflowers. The result is a fragrant wine that bursts with vitality. Tropical fruits and that elusive hint of lychee make this such a rewarding wine. The off-dry character is secondary to its symphony of flavour.

Notes: For those who witnessed 'Blue Nun' as children and teenagers, Liebfraumilch has a dark past. Thankfully those days are gone and Liebfraumilch is back where it belongs. Often considered a budget wine, the modest price of this wine is vastly superior to commercial wines at double the price. We know , we have comparison tasted. Pineapple, mango, and vanilla combine in a wine that is surprising subtle. Cloying sweetness is avoided and the result is rich, fragrant and well-rounded.

Notes: This wine is not very familiar to Canada's, but it is widely planted vine in Germany. The cross of Riesling and the early ripening Madeleine Royale was made by Dr. Müller in Thurgau, Switzerland more than one hundred years ago. Rich is perhaps the best word to describe this wine. Elderflowers contribute to a fruity and that is low in acidity. This flower, medium-bodied wine is best enjoyed young.

Notes: Muscat maintains some consistent qualities; low acidity, a perfumed aroma, a grape-like flavour. It's perfumed notes often give it a role in blends. Although often associated with sweeter wines, dry, off-dry, sweet, dessert and sparkling muscats are common. This SUPERIOR Muscat is an off-dry wine packed with flavours of apricot, peach, baked apples and pear, with a grape-like backing. Fruit forward, low acidity wines are always popular with those less familiar with wine. Once again, best enjoyed young.

Notes: A simple description of the SUPERIOR Riesling (floral notes, apricot, green apples and lime) fails to make the contrast with the dry REGULAR Riesling. This a rich off-dry wine in which more intense fruit flavours are balanced by a marked lime acidity. Both are classic Riesling style. It is simply personal taste.

Notes: This is another wine that should be more prominent in retail outlets. Grown of the south-facing hills of northern Italy, this is a wine of citrus, grapefruit and crisp acidity. Young wines have prized slightly bitter finish that transforms to rich honey with age. Look for white peach and a subtle balance of fruit and acidity. It 'verde' comes from the slight green hue of this straw-coloured wine.
